I believe you are right! Another one I would add: I believe that your partner should bring out the best in you and vice versa.

I believe that your dreams and goals don’t have to take precedence over your relationship – they can co-exist peacefully if you want them to, but the key is wanting them to and making an effort for them.

Two thoughts on the above:


1. In my experience, the 'simultaneous' thang is a myth. What it's more like is how so-called multi-tasking actually works—you flip really really really fast between things. Very closely related to this is...

2. It is imperative that you and your crazy cohort are on the same page when it comes to this. S/he needs to be supportive both of the goals thing AND on the same page regarding the importance of the goals/relationship mix.
